Air pollution is a pressing environmental issue in urban centers, with substantial population numbers and detrimental effects on public health and terms. Traditional environmental pollution control measures often have problems with real-time monitoring, prediction accuracy, and effective adaptive management. This paper presents evolving applications of artificial intelligence (AI) in managing air pollution with specific reference to predictive analytics, real-time monitoring, and optimization of urban infrastructure. Our study uses a descriptive-analytical approach to explore how AI technologies, like machine learning models and IoT sensors, can address air quality management issues. Other challenges include data availability, privacy, the generally high cost of implementation, and integration within urban infrastructures. Study findings suggest AI solutions have improved the accuracy of pollution forecasts and traffic management, resulting in lower emissions. Future research directions and policy recommendations for sustainable AI deployment in intelligent control are put forward in this paper.
