Several problems such as overloaded, uncomfortable, inefficient public transport and traffic congestion in Kerman indicate severity of public transportation problems in this city based on previous investigations. To sustain, the operating performance and service quality of the system must be evaluated to improve the current situation. In this paper load factor as one of the quality of service indicators was determined to improve quality of services in Kerman bus network. The applied methodology was an observation for which a survey was conducted in 5 main lines in different peak hours. The result shows that the average load factor and the maximum on-board passengers in peak hours in one of the main lines are too high compared with standard range. It means system is productive but over-loaded which causes unsatisfactory for travellers in this line, and in contrast, in some other lines load factors are very low and bellow the standard rang which indicates under-utilized capacity and non-productive system.
