چکیده مقاله:
The widespread use of organophosphorus pesticides is a major concern for water, soil and public health. Organophosphorus in the environment causes surface water pollution. Biological techniques such as bioremediation, biostimulation, biosurfactants, bioremediation of contaminated sites are available for pesticide degradation. The use of cell-free enzymes and yeast is also an advanced method for the decomposition of organophosphates. In the bioremediation method, biological agents such as microorganisms are used to decompose pollutants in the presence of sufficient nutrients and environmental conditions. The characteristics of polluted places, temperature, pH, the nature of pollutants are important factors that play a major role in the bioremediation process. This review describes the major effects of organophosphates on surface water pollution and their bioremediation. Owing to complex nature of pesticides, robust techniques need to be developed which can produce the desired result in a very cost-effective manner.
