چکیده مقاله:
Air pollution is one of the most pressing environmental challenges, with destructive effects on human health and the environment. It contributes to respiratory and cardiovascular diseases, reducing the quality of life and increasing mortality rates. Nanotechnology offers promising solutions to mitigate these impacts. Due to their high surface area and unique properties, nanomaterials can serve as highly efficient filters to reduce air pollutants. Innovative methods based on nanotechnology include the use of nanocatalysts, nanocoatings, and nanosensors to monitor and control air quality. This article employs a literature review to explore the applications of nanotechnology in reducing air pollution. The findings indicate that nanomaterials and nanotechnology-based methods can significantly reduce and control air pollution. For instance, nanocatalysts can enhance the breakdown of pollutants, while nanocoatings can provide surfaces that repel contaminants. Nanosensors offer precise monitoring of air quality, enabling timely interventions. However, for the broader application of this technology, more research is needed to address existing challenges. These include the high costs and complexity of producing nanomaterials, as well as potential environmental and safety issues related to their use. Understanding the long-term effects of nanomaterials on human health and ecosystems is crucial. Addressing these challenges through continued research and development will be essential for the safe and effective implementation of nanotechnology in air pollution control. Overall, nanotechnology holds great potential for improving air quality and preserving the environment, but its widespread adoption requires overcoming significant hurdles.
