چکیده مقاله:

The Makran subduction zone, situated in southeastern Iran and southern Pakistan, is a uniquesegment within the Alpine-Himalayan system where subduction is still active despite the surroundingcontinental collision. This study utilizes ambient noise and local Earthquake tomography with datafrom ۶۵ broadband seismic stations to create a ۲D shear-wave velocity image, providing insights intothe transition from collision to subduction. The research indicates the presence of thicker sedimentlayers in regions with reduced velocity anomalies and identifies distinct geological features such as theZagros transition zone and the Makran Accretionary Wedge. Additionally, the research suggests thatoceanic lithosphere subduction is ongoing to the east of a certain longitude (around longitude ۵۸°E),while a collision zone is emerging to the west of this point.
