چکیده مقاله:

One of the main elements in seismic hazard assessment is selection of proper ground motionmodels (GMMs), which predict ground motion intensity measures using some seismologicalparameters such as magnitude, distance, site class and faulting mechanism. The first GMM derivedfrom Iranian strong-motion data was published more than ۲۵ years ago; since then strong-motionnetwork and the resulting databank of accelerograms in the region have been expanded significantly. Many equations for the prediction of peak ground-motion parameters (such as PGA and PGV) andresponse spectral ordinates (SA) have been published in recent years.Scarcity of data in the near source region was a major shorthcoming of previous Iranian GMMs.Recenty, Zafarani & Soghrat (۲۰۲۳) developed the first Iranian GMM which contains a large amountof near-field records from shallow crustal events. In this study, a review of GMMs developed based onthe Iranian database is counducted and the characteristics of the proposed model of Zafarani andSoghrat (۲۰۲۳), is also explained.
