چکیده مقاله:
This article delves into Michel Foucault's concept of biopolitics and its application to the portrayal of war and trauma in Phuong’s “Storms” in post-war era of Vietnam. It explores the intricate relationship between power dynamics, control, and the regulation of life processes within social structures, emphasizing the ways in which power is exerted over individual bodies and entire populations. In fact, the goal of the study is to examine how biopolitical power dynamics shape individual and collective experiences of conflict and its aftermath. Through the methodology of close reading and theoretical analysis, the article highlights the ways in which the Americans targeted Vietnamese biopolitical subjects during the war, resulting in lasting physical and psychological trauma. The concluding part emphasizes the devastating impact of war on the Vietnamese people, while also recognizing their resilience and strength in the face of adversity. The story serves as a poignant critique of violence and oppression, reminding readers of the human cost of war and the pressing need for peace and reconciliation in a world marked by conflict and suffering.
