The Importance of Regulating Intellectual Property Law Based on Neurodivergent Individual Needs

This paper explores the necessity of adapting intellectual property (IP) law to better support theunique contributions and needs of neurodivergent individuals, such as those with autism, AttentionDeficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and dyslexia. Traditional IP frameworks often fail torecognize the cognitive diversity that neurodivergence brings, despite the fact that theseindividuals often have exceptional strengths that can fuel innovation and creativity. Byacknowledging and valuing these diverse perspectives, reducing obstacles to innovation, andfostering equity and inclusion, IP law can more effectively support neurodivergent creators andinventors. The paper argues that more inclusive IP regulations can enhance innovation ecosystems,promote collaborative innovation, and address important ethical and social issues, ultimatelycontributing to a fairer and more equitable society.
