Internet and Future Diplomacy

One of the most important tools for pursuing foreign policy goals is diplomacy through which countries seek to resolve the issues of foreign relations with peaceful settlements including negotiation.As timely information of events and its transfer to the center for quick decision making is of highlyimportance for successful diplomacy, Internet communication and uninterrupted networking access to the vast resources it provides for diplomats has doubled the issue. Though networking diplomacy andits many types of online messengers, diplomats make easy and simultaneous connection with the publicof their host receiving and third countries, and even manage joint meetings. Networking diplomacy is not confined to this as the likelihood to form virtual diplomatic andconsular agencies and virtual secretariats for international organizations is also predictable.Governments without the need for dedicating a place for centralizing their executive activities canmaintain their direct connections with other governments and international organizations and hunt anyrequired information directly from the original website sources. This paper attempts to survey thenetworking facilities so far have offered to the government diplomatic and consular representations and the secretariats of international organizations and to analyze different implications in their application in future diplomacy
