The preparation of quinazolin-۴(۳H)-ones by various organic acids, ۲-aminobenzoic acid, andammonium phosphate in one-pot reactions using phosphorus oxychloride as a catalyst. We disclose a highlyefficient phosphorus oxychloride catalyzed for the synthesis of quinazolinones in good to excellent yields. Theadvantages of this method include simple procedures, easy workup, and readily available and inexpensivestarting materials
