This article explores the transformative impact of generative artificial intelligence (AI), specifically ChatGPT, on entrepreneurship, and the critical policy adaptations needed to manage these disruptions effectively. It delves into the historical context of technological disruptions, drawing parallels with past innovations such as the steam engine, electricity, and the internet. By defining generative AI and examining ChatGPT's development, capabilities, and applications, this study highlights its potential to revolutionize various industries. The impact on entrepreneurship is analyzed, showcasing the benefits of ChatGPT in customer service automation, content creation, personalized marketing, and administrative tasks. The need for rapid policy adaptation is underscored, addressing potential risks such as misinformation, data privacy concerns, and job displacement. Historical and contemporary resistance to disruptive technologies is examined to understand policymakers' concerns. Lessons from agile policy frameworks are presented, emphasizing proactive strategies, stakeholder engagement, and leveraging technology for effective policy development. The article concludes with recommendations for future policy adaptations, calling for collaboration between policymakers and entrepreneurs to create agile and effective regulatory frameworks.
