Study of traditional and cyber bullying prevalence scale in students of Ardebil University of medical science

چکیده مقاله:

Background & Aims: Bullying is an intentional and aggressive behavior that a person shows towards others. The purpose of this research is to study traditional and cyber bullying in students of Ardebil University of medical science, school year ۲۰۲۰-۲۰۲۱.Materials & Methods: the method of this research is cross-sectional descriptive. The statistical population in this research is all students of Ardebil University of medical science. They are ۴۵۳ people (۲۳۷ boys and ۲۰۶ girls) who were selected with multiphase cluster sampling. For collecting data Hinduja and Patchin bullying scale (BS) and for analyzing data X۲ and T statistical test have been used.Results: the results showed that traditional bullying prevalence in boys is ۹.۰۵ percent and in girls ۴.۰۷ percent and cyber bullying prevalence in boys is ۱۱.۲ percent and in girls ۶.۸ percent. Analyzing data with X۲ also showed that traditional bullying prevalence has a significant relationship with birth sex (P < ۰.۰۵) and order (P < ۰.۰۱) and cyber bullying prevalence with economic situation (P < ۰.۰۱). But there isn't any significant relationship between traditional bullying with economic situation, between cyber bullying with birth order and sex (P>۰.۰۵).Conclusion: bullying prevalence scale in students of this research is high, so clinical and immediate attention to this group is required.
