چکیده مقاله:

This study aims at investigating children literature program on the vocabulary and reading ability of Iranianelementary stage students. To conduct the current study, sample research included ۶۰ English languagelearners were selected from an English language institute in Poldokhtar city, Iran, and assigned toexperimental and control groups. Data of the study were collected within almost one semester period via apre-posttest design for equivalent groups. The control group was taught by the teacher with the traditionalway, however, the experimental group was taught by teacher through children literature program. Datawere analyzed through an independent sample t-test to find if there are salient differences between thefindings of the two groups in their vocabulary and reading performance. Results revealed that there was asignificant difference in the performance of the experimental group in comparison to the control group.Results showed the experimental group outperformed the control one in the post-test. This indicated thatchildren literature program may have a significant positive effect on learners’ vocabulary and readingability
