The non-spherical socket-ball joint is a ۲-DOF closed-loop mechanism that transmits themotion and force of the driver on the base to the moving platform. It combines the semirotationalmotions in ۲ different plates. This paper surveys the tension analysis of a nonsphericalball-socket joint numerically by both LS-DYNA and ABAQUS softwarepackages and uses a specific methodology to optimize the structural parameters of thenon-spherical ball-socket joint. Based on the analysis, the tension distribution of the leveris analyzed first. Second, analyzing the tension distribution of the non-spherical part wasthe consequently upcoming step. Third, the outputs of LS-DYNA were embedded inABAQUS. Then an efficient method was used to calculate the relationship between thepose of the lever and the non-spherical part by the tension. Finally, all details of thesimulation were mentioned to be considered in similar simulations.
