Hand Scaling Measurement for DentalHygienist Based on Training

Many abilities that cannot be learned without continuous practice are taught to dentalhygienists. It is necessary to assess the abilities of students and provide real-time feedback forimprovement in order to increase the effectiveness of this instruction. One of the most crucialduties of dental hygienists is hand scaling work, which is the topic of this study. For thepurpose of measuring the motion involved in hand scaling, we created a measurement systemthat is introduced in this research study. The talents of the students can be evaluatedobjectively using this measured data. The measuring of the hand scaling motion of numerousparticipants in the trial, including dental hygienist teachers, dental hygienists, and dentalhygienist students are performed, who had varying levels of professional experience. Wedemonstrated that it is possible to derive a quantitative index for differentiating betweenvarious individual skills from the measured findings.
