چکیده مقاله:

Nano alumina is available in various forms, most of which are γ and α-Al۲O۳. The nano γ-Al۲O۳ is used often as an adsorbent than α form due to its higher porosity and is called activealumina. In addition to the special properties of alumina, nano γ-Al۲O۳ has been more effectivethan other metal oxides as an adsorbent for toxic metals [۱]. Nonetheless, the poor adsorption oftoxic metals onto the nano γ-Al۲O۳ limits its use as a desirable adsorbent. The nano γ-Al۲O۳ wasused as an adsorbent to remove toxic metals such as cadmium, zinc, lead, and copper. Waterinsoluble β-cyclodextrin is used as an adsorbent for the removal of organic pollutants and heavymetals in water due to their solubility in water (۱.۸۵g per ۱۰۰ml) and high tendency to hydrogenbonding [۲]. In a study, Pourshadlou et al [۳] reported the uptake of magnesium from water bybentonite/γ-Al۲O۳ nanocomposite, and the effects of various parameters including γ-Al۲O۳ content,initial ion concentration, and adsorbent dosage were investigated. Verma et al [۴] synthesizedβ−cyclodextrin−ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid−chitosan (β−CD−EDTA−CS) polymer wassynthesized for the removal of heavy metals and organic dyes from aqueous solution andinvestigated the effects of different parameters such as pH, time effect, initial concentration, andreusability. They stated that the absorption of heavy metals is faster than dyes. In the current work,we synthesized nano γ-Alumina/β -Cyclodextrin as an Adsorbent for Cd (II) Adsorption. The FTIRand XRD SEM of nano γ-Al۲O۳ and γ-Al۲O۳/β-cyclodextrin composite were evaluated. Theresults showed good size and morphology for nano γ-Al۲O۳ and γ-Al۲O۳/β-cyclodextrinnanocomposite. So, the results indicated the efficiency of nano γ-Al۲O۳/β-cyclodextrin toremediate Cd(II) from aqueous solutions in our study [۵].
