This article investigates the effects of online language teaching on learners' speaking skills. With the increasing availability and accessibility of online language instruction, it is crucial to understand the impact of this mode of teaching on learners' ability to speak in the target language. The study employed a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative analysis of pre- and post-test scores and qualitative analysis of interview transcripts and questionnaire responses. The participants consisted of ۵۰ adult learners who had already completed an online language teaching program. The quantitative results revealed a statistically significant improvement in participants' speaking skills following their engagement in online language teaching programs. The qualitative analysis provided insights into participants' experiences, highlighting the perceived improvements in speaking proficiency, increased engagement, and convenience of online language instruction. The findings underscore the potential of online language teaching to enhance speaking skills and emphasize the importance of learner engagement, motivation, and a supportive learning environment. These results have implications for language educators, program designers, and policymakers, and suggest the need for further research to explore the effectiveness of different instructional strategies and contextual factors in online language teaching.
