چکیده مقاله:

There is much attention to quercetin due to its potential properties, including antioxidant, chelating metals, anti-inflammatory, and anti-apoptotic properties. Given the role of oxidative stress, iron accumulation, and inflammation in neurodegeneration, quercetin may be a candidate drug to prevent and cure neurodegenerative diseases (NDs). Furthermore, the anticancer activities of quercetin were indicated by several studies. However, low solubility, instability, and poor penetration of quercetin into the brain reduce the biological effects of quercetin. In recent years, nanoparticles (NPs) have attracted special attention due to their ability to deliver drugs to the certain cells. Numerous studies have designed various NPs to improve quercetin properties. In addition to enhancing the quercetin solubility and bioavailability, the NPs could ameliorate the antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anticancer properties of quercetin. This study reviews efficiency of quercetin NPs (QNPs) and quercetin-carrier NPs and suggests the NPs can be effective to improve the neuroprotective and anti-cancer effects of quercetin
