چکیده مقاله:
Major depressive disorder (MDD) is the leading cause of disability that is recognized as a mooddisorder in the world. This disease is characterized by symptoms such as depressed mood thatlasts for more than two weeks and causes emotional distress, functional impairment, health problemsand suicide, etc. Artificial intelligence and mathematical modeling techniques have graduallybeen welcomed by researchers in mental health research to try to solve these issues. The fieldof mental health can benefit from these techniques because they understand the importance ofobtaining accurate information to describe various psychiatric disorders. Background and aims: Artificial intelligence is currently being used to facilitate early diseasediagnosis, enable better understanding of disease progression, optimize drug/treatment doses, anddiscover new treatments. The purpose of this project is to review whether artificial intelligenceallows us to use it in the diagnosis of mental health disorders (with a focus on major depressivedisorder).Method: Recent studies related to the use of artificial intelligence in mental health (with a focuson major depressive disorder) in the years ۲۰۱۵-۲۰۲۲ have been reviewed. We used PubMed andGoogle Scholar to locate studies that have conducted original clinical research in a field related toartificial intelligence and mental health. Results: The use of artificial intelligence techniques offers the ability to develop better pre-diagnosisscreening tools and develop risk models to determine susceptibility or risk of mental illness. The use of computational approaches to big data can be used in the implementation of personalizedmental health care as a long-term goal. Conclusion: We have a relatively limited understanding of the interactions between biological, psychological, and social systems. Intelligent systems can increasingly be used to support clinicaldecision-making. A review of new and original literature in the field of artificial intelligenceand mental health care (Methods/Results) and how artificial intelligence can supplement mentalhealth clinical practice, considering current limitations, is one of the results of this research.
