چکیده مقاله:

One of the main issues facing Iran's maritime sector recently has been ballast water treatment. This is because the destination water changes when water from the seas is added to it. Changes in native microorganisms, marine species, and biota may result from the introduction of pollutants and non-native microbes, which may have negative effects on the ecology, economics, environment, and public health. Alarming environmental issues have arisen in Iran as a result of the existence of plankton, the worst of which causes many environmental problems. In this respect, several techniques have been offered under the heading of "ballast water purification", which are used strictly in accordance with International Maritime Organization requirements. (IMO). The chlorination process is one of the most important ones; others include filters or UV-based techniques like UV with TiO۲ or and H۲O۲. A combination between UV-based technologies and oxidant agents are used in ballast water treatment to meet IMO regulations, providing a comprehensive solution.
