چکیده مقاله:

Iran as a major oil producing country has increasingly paid attention to the non-fossil energy resources,in particular to renewable energy sources for its longer term energy plans. In this regard, ۱۱ projectspertaining to solar energy are being utilized or carried out by Iran ׳s Ministry of Energy. The totalphotovoltaic power installed in ۲۰۰۴ was ۱۴,۰۲۰ MW. This rate reached ۶۷ MW by the end of ۲۰۱۰.Further, two geothermal projects are being constructed in Ardabil Province at present. By the end of۲۰۱۰, the Meshkinshahr geothermal power plant project revealed a progress rate equal to ۵۰%.Similarly, the package construction project in Ardabil revealed a ۳۲% progress. Due to financialhardship in the Fourth Development Program, the completion of these projects was extended to the endof the Fifth Development Program. The nameplate power of biogas power plants in Iran is ۱.۸۶۰ MWthe total installed capacity is ۱.۶۶۵ MW. According to Strategy Document of Fuel Cell TechnologyDevelopment (Approved by the government in ۲۰۰۴), Iran has revealed good progress in fuel cellprojects. Private sectors have already signed contracts to build more than ۶۰۰ MW of biomass systemsand ۵۰۰ MW of new wind energy developments. The nominal power of the wind parks that can beerected in the available sites with remarkable wind potential in Iran is approximately ۶۵۰۰ MW,employing wind turbines of ۶۰,۰۰۰ MW nominal power. The estimated mean annual capacity factor ofthese wind parks This paper discusses suitability of renewable energy applied in buildings, includingsolar thermal energy (ST), photovoltaic (PV) and geothermal heat pump systems (GSHP), based on GISdatabase and operation data analysis. GIS-based tools are also developed for evaluating suitability ofrenewable energy applied in buildings.
