The purpose of this study was to investigate the impact of Project-Based Learning on vocabulary development of English language learners. To this end, an experimental approach using two groups of participants (i.e. experimental and control) was employed. The experimental group was taught using the PBL method while the control group was taught using the conventional or traditional method This research carried out during ۷ months, two groups of ۳۰ learners (۱۵ students in each group) were exposed to project-based instruction and traditional method. Both groups received ۲۴-week vocabulary training in the beginning ۳۰ minutes of each conversation class but in different ways. Pre-tests and post-tests were used to measure learners’ improvements in vocabulary development level. The results revealed that the learners involved in Project-Based Learning proved superior compared to the traditional learning group in their English vocabulary. It shows that projects done in Project-Based Learning surpass the activities done in traditional learning contexts. The findings suggest that projects are more effective than traditional ones, it may be due to the enticing features of project that enhance learners' motivation and interest.
