چکیده مقاله:
Results:Sixty studies on infertility and antioxidant were identified. Ten relative publicationswere eligible for systematic review. Finally, after applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria,۷ randomized clinical trials were found and the following results were obtained from infertilemen who received antioxidants supplement:The results of the study showed an increase insperm concentration with CoQ۱۰ treatment as well as increased progressive sperm motility andtotal sperm motility (p < ۰.۰۵) with CoQ۱۰ and selenium.Receiving L-carnitinesupplementation alone after microsurgical varicocelectomy causes a significant increase inprogressive sperm motility and sperm concentration compared to the baseline level and spermconcentration resulting in a significant decrease in the level of sperm DNAfragmentation.Vitamin E as an antioxidant can significantly increase the pregnancy rate andimprove sperm count and progressive sperm motility in cases of idiopathicoligoasthenozoospermia. In one study, by receiving an antioxidant supplement with acombination of vitamin E, selenium, and L-carnitine there were no statistically significantdifferences for changes in sperm morphology, motility, or DNA fragmentation. Conclusion:According to the findings of this review, treatment with CoQ۱۰ or selenium couldimprove sperm concentration, motility, and antioxidant status in infertile men with CoQ۱۰providing the higher improvement.Receiving L-carnitine antioxidant supplementation for male infertility in patients withvaricocele leads to an improvement in the basic sperm concentration and motility and adecrease in the level of sperm DNA fragmentation in the short term.Vitamin E supplementation significantly improves the in vitro function of human spermatozoa.Recently study suggests a positive effect of Astaxanthin on sperm parameters and fertility.Further studies are needed to determine the effect of antioxidant supplementation on spermmorphology, motility, or DNA fragmentation.
