Induction of premature ovarian failure (POF) model in rats with appropriate brand of cisplatin

Cisplatin, is one of the most effective chemotherapeutic drugs, which has been successfully used against various tumors, but this drug has various side effects such as premature ovarian failure (POF).In order to select the cisplatin among different available brands: Sobhan daru (Iran), Mylan (GmbH) and Ebewe Pharma (Austria), ۱۲ female rats divided into ۴ equal groups as follows: Control (normal saline), T۱ to T۳ groups: received IP cisplatin in a single dose of ۷ mg/kg from three companies, Soban daru, Mylan and Ebewe Pharma, respectively. After ۱ week, the animals were euthanized and the left ovary was removed. Then follicular counting was done and analyzed by ANOVA using SPSS. ۲۶ and the significance level (p≤۰.۰۵) was considered.The results showed that the number of healthy and atretic follicles in different groups are statistically different (p≤۰.۰۵). The number of healthy follicles included ۲۶۱.۳±۸.۳, ۱۹۱.۳±۵.۰۳, ۱۷۰±۱ and ۱۲۷.۳±۱۰.۱ about groups ۱ to ۴ respectively. Atretic follicles were ۱۶±۱, ۵۷.۳±۲.۵۲, ۸۰±۵ and ۱۱۰.۶۷±۳.۰۶ about groups ۱ to ۴ respectively.According to the number of healthy and atretic follicles, it is concluded that cisplatin of Ebewe pharma is able to reduce the follicles more effectively and create the POF model appropriately.
