Factors affecting on the development of agriculture tourism (Case Study: Deland City in Golestan Province in Iran)

Introduction: Tourism has become a major and dependable economic activity in many countries. Tourism is lifeline to economic and social development and that meaningful linkages with other sectors such as agriculture should be comprehensively developed. The flourish of the tourism industry depends very much on the functioning of other sectors such as agriculture and so vice versa. This study examines the linkages between agriculture and tourism following the shift from an agricultural economy to tourism, hospitality, and service oriented economy in Deland city in Golestan province in Iran. Methods: The present research is practical in terms of its purpose. It is quantitative in terms of data type. It is descriptive in terms of how data is collected. It is a survey research in terms of implementation. It is a type of correlation. ۲۶۰ tourists of Deland city in Golestan province were surveyed using simple sampling method. Research data were collected using a questionnaire ۳۴ items and analyzed by SPSS and LISREL Software. Results: The results of the data analysis indicated that all the research hypotheses were confirmed and there was a direct and positive relationship between the research variables, which respectively the inborn elements, the intellectual substructures, the promotion elements, the physical substructures, the competition elements had the most relationship with agriculture tourism. Discussion: Deland City in Golestan Province, judging by its plentiful crops and gardens, seemed to have many capacities for attracting tourists.
