چکیده مقاله:

The aim of the present study was to determine the contribution of behavioral activation / inhibition brainsystems and difficulty in emotion regulation in predicting self-injurious behavior in adolescents. Theresearch method was descriptive and correlational. The statistical population of the present study was alladolescents aged ۱۵ to ۱۸ years studying in high schools in Tehran in the academic year ۲۰۲۰, fromwhich ۱۰۰ people were selected by convenience sampling. The instruments used in this study werestandard self-harm questionnaires, behavioral inhibition / activation systems, and difficulty in emotionregulation. Data were analyzed using Pearson correlation test and multivariate regression stepwise. Thefindings of the present study showed that a positive and significant relationship between behavioralactivation systems, difficulty in emotion regulation and its dimensions including rejection of emotionalresponses, difficulty in performing purposeful behavior, difficulty in controlling impulse, lack ofemotional awareness There is limited access to emotion regulation strategies and lack of emotionalclarity with self-injurious behaviors, and there is a significant negative relationship between behavioralinhibition systems and self-injurious behaviors (P <۰.۰۱). Also, the results of regression analysis showedthat the variables of behavioral activator, lack of emotional awareness and rejection of emotionalresponses can predict ۰.۴۵, ۰.۲۲ and ۰.۴۱% of the variance of self-injurious behaviors in adolescents, respectively.
