The power of the CEO and the middle senior manager on profit management in companies listed on the Tehran Stock Exchange

The present study investigates the effect of the power of the CEO and senior manager on earnings management in companies listed on the Tehran Stock Exchange. For this purpose, the data values of research components for the period ۲۰۱۱-۲۰۲۱ were calculated. The statistical population of the study consisted of ۱۲۰ active companies listed on the Tehran Stock Exchange. The relevant data were extracted from the financial statements available in the database of the Stock Exchange and Securities Organization. The extracted data were entered into an Excel spreadsheet and then entered into Eviews software for analysis. Due to the combined nature of the data, which consists of time and cross-sectional series, the statistical model of data panel regression or composite data was used, so that for each time and each index, a regression model was developed, and then the estimated coefficients for each the components of the research were determined. Findings showed that the presence of the CEO compared to the middle senior manager has a greater impact on earnings management in companies listed on the Tehran Stock Exchange. Tehran has a greater impact Another result of this study was that a strong CFO reduces the aggressive impact of a strong CEO on earnings management and a strong CFO reduces the aggressive impact of a CFO on earnings management.
