In this paper, a new method for controlling the antenna position of a satellite with time-varying delay using the H_∞ robust controller approach for neutral systems is proposed. The selection of the appropriate Lyapunov function and the controller discretization algorithm using the descriptive method are the characteristics of the controller. Delay in the system causes deviation from the desired performance and if the delay is variable with time, there is a possibility of instability of the controlled system. Assuming that the upper limit value of the delay is known, the system delay is discretized into several smaller time intervals and a suitable controller is designed for each range to ensure the stability and improve the behavior of the closed-loop system. The efficiency of the designed control system is evaluated and analyzed using various simulations and it is shown that the closed-loop system is stable under different conditions. The simulation results show the optimal efficiency of the proposed control system compared to the conventional control method.
