چکیده مقاله:
Background: breast cancer is one of the most common types of chronic disease in women, while mental health, maintenance, and stability of women for their role in the family and sometimes, the responsibility of their employment in society is highly significant.Objectives: The purpose of this study was to compare the effectiveness of positive psychotherapy and compassion-focused therapy on the self-worth and psychological well-being of breast cancer patients.Method: The present study was a quasi-experimental design with pre-test and post-test designs with the control group. The statistical population consisted of ۴۵ women with breast cancer who were referred to Shohadaye Tajrish Hospital in Tehran in the second half of ۲۰۱۸ who were selected by convenience sampling method. To collect data and information, Psychological Wellbeing Questionnaire (۱۹۸۰), and self-worth questionnaire Cracker et al. (۲۰۰۳). The obtained data were analyzed using multivariate and univariate analysis of variance by spss.۲۲. Results: There is a significant difference between the effectiveness of positive psychotherapy and compassion-focused therapy on psychological well-being (P<۰.۰۱), and self-worth (P<۰.۰۱). Positive psychotherapy was more effective than compassion-focused therapy on psychological well-being and self-worth. Conclusion: Positive psychotherapy is more effective than compassion-focused treatment due to providing more appropriate and favorable conditions for women's health, so strengthening and developing positive psychotherapy for chronic patients such as cancer; is a positive step towards success that needs to be given more attention by the health authorities.
