چکیده مقاله:
Protecting Distribution Networks against Lightning Due to the requirements on power quality and the existence of sensitive loads in the network, the use of surge arrester is one of the best ways to deal with this natural phenomenon. Due to the relatively high cost of electrical equipment as well as the economic losses due to blackouts caused by lightning discharge, this paper aims to optimize the placement of the electrical dis-chargers in the infinite distribution network based on the regional dis-charge rate. The sample of Alborz province in Iran has been studied and the new method has determined the optimum number and location of surge arrester. In this method, the diagram confirms the reduction of the risk of atmospheric discharge as well as the cost savings caused by the installation of additional surge arrester in the network.
