Investigating the DPPH radical scavenging activity in methanol and propanol extracts of three varieties of Radish

DPPH radical scavenging activity of root and leaf of three varieties radish (longipinnatus, niger, sativus) was investigated. As solvents, methanol, propanol were used. The antioxidant activity of the extract with methanol solvent was higher than that of propanol. Also, this activity in the leaf was more than the root. The highest activity was observed in sativus variety of radish. So, methanolic extract of sativus variety of radish leaf had the lowest IC۵۰.
