چکیده مقاله:
Experimental designs play an important role in planning experiments so that the data obtained can be analyzed to yield accurate and objective conclusions. Yet, due to the development of information science and having a large amount of data as well as extensive advances in technology, augmented designs has become a very important tool in many statistical applications, especially in plant breeding programs.Augmented designs are used for screening a large number of new treatments with a small number of check treatments to allow the estimation of error variance and a local control for new treatments. The contribution of our work is finding the exact approach to estimate effects of rows, columns, checks and new treatments and also calculating the sums of squares under the full and reduced models for symmetric augmented Latin square design (SALSD) where the mathematical expressions for such an exact approach will be complex. Analysis methods have been implemented and explained with numerical example using the R program.
