Numerical Study of Mobility Control Methods in Naturally Fractured Reservoir

Large quantities of oil usually remain in oil reservoirs after natural depletion. Several enhanced oil recovery (EOR) methods were developed to improve oil recovery and produce remaining oil. Although The gas injection method is usual, it contains low sweep efficiency in heterogeneous reservoirs. One of the most common EOR methods is gas injection. Mobility control techniques such as foam injection and Water Alternating Gas (WAG) injection have been developed to overcome this problem.This study aims to investigate the effect of this method on improving the sweep efficiency of gas injection. The results show improvement in recovery due to injection of WAG and foam compared to gas. Foam injection is the best EOR method for improving oil recovery compared to other methods.
