Study of Serviceability Conditions of Generator Foundation in Gotvand Hydro Power Plant

Generators in Hydro Power Plant (HPP) have rotating parts and in order to avoid resonance during operation and also to limit the vibration amplitude which is notdesirable for both human beings and equipments, the supporting foundation should meet the requested dynamic characteristics specified by the supplier of generators. Main dynamic parameters of generator foundation include translational frequency,rotational frequency and translational compliance in different periods. In this study, these dynamic parameters are checked for Gotvand HPP using ANSYS software. The results show that dynamic behavior of foundation meets the requirement specified by the manufacturer.
