Flexible manufacturing lines mathematical analysis

In this work we offer an analysis and model of a manufacturing line which uses a priority mechanism to process various types of part in faulty machinery. The manufacturing line comprises of machines separated in a set order by storage rooms where components are fluxed. Whenever feasible, a machine functions on the highest priority portion and only works on less priority components when it is unable to generate top priority components. Part priorities are static and only part type functions. The objective of this study is for the production rates and average inventory levels in a flexibles manufacturing line to give mathematical formulations and methods for each part type. The qualitative behavior of the multipart line is explained in several situations of supply and demand.
