Bi ological Effects of Surfactants (SDSˬCT AB ˬTriton X-۱۰۰) Used in the Preparation of Na no Fluids

The te rm surfactant is a blend of surface active age nts. A surf actant is briefly defined as a material that can greatly re duce the surface tension of water when u sed in very low concentrations. Companies and Nanomanuf acturing Center use various surfactants in preparatio n of suspe nsions of na noparticles that all of th em are not safe in term o f toxicity. In recent years much research has been conducte d in the field of biological senso rs for detecting various types of poll ution. Vibrio Fischeri is a biosensor and has bioluminesce nt properties which is highly sensitive to the pr esence and e ffects of pollutants and detects the presence of contamination with low light. We provide an ex periment to evaluate the possible toxic effects of surfacta nts (SDS, CTAB, Triton X-۱۰۰) by this biosens or [۱-۴]. (۱) So dium lauryl sulfate SL S its chemical formul a is NaC۱۲ H۲۵SO۴ or Sodium dodecyl sulfat e, SDS are anionic surfactant.(۲) Cetyl trimethyl ammoni um bromide (CTAB) its chemical formula i s C۱۹H۴۲BrN is anionic surfactant. (۳) P olyoxyethylene octyl phenyl ether (Triton X-۱۰۰) its chemi cal formula is C۱۴H۲۲O(C۲H۴O )n (n = ۹-۱۰) and is a nonionic surfactant.
