Theoretical studies o f decompo sition an d reactivity of the C۳F۷OCH۲O radical

Hydrofluoroethers (HFEs) are a kind of compounds which have been dev eloped to re place CFCs in applications such as the cleani ng of electronic equipm ent, heat transfer agents for semiconductor and electronics manufacture and fluid carriers for lubricant d eposition [۱] . The atmospheric oxidation of n- C۳F۷OCH۳ (HFE-۷۰۰۰) will be initiated by reaction wit h OH radicals that the i nitial attack of OH radi cal on HFE-۷۰۰۰ leads to the form ation of halo alkyl radicals [۲], whic h in turn reacts with atm ospheric O۲ to give peroxy radicals (C۳F۷OCH۲O۲•). The re action of C۳F۷OCH۲O۲ radical with NO, NO۲ a nd HO۲ in the troposphere finally causes the fo rmation of haloalkoxy r adicals (C۳F۷OCH۲O•).
