Surf ace protec tion of copper using organic compoun ds in acid ic media

The inhi biting effici ency of the different add itivesis(۱-{ ۴-[۲-(۵-meth yl-۱,۳,۴-thiadiazol-۲-yl)-۱-diazenyl]phenyl}- ۱H-۱,۲.۳,۴-tetraazole-۵-thiol,B۱ and ۱-{۴-[۲-(۱,۳-benzothiazol-۲-yl)-۱-diazeny]phenyl}-۱H-۱,۲,۳,۴-tetr aazole-۵-tiol,B۲) evaluated by means of electrochemical techniques such as polarization curves and ac imped nce measu rements .res ults obtaine d showed that the i nhibition ef ficiency (IE%) increases with increasing the inhibitors concentration.The results indicate that the surface layer is of dielec tric nature , and the film formed on the copper in uniform and protective Introdu ction:One of the most i mportant m ethods in th e corrosion protection of copper is the use of organic inhibitors.m ost of the inhibitors are organic com pounds and their derivatives such as azoles[۱,۲,۳],aminoacids[۴].Corr osion inhibitors change the corros ion potential,impede t he cathodic and anodic corrosion r eaction via polarization on the met al surface a nd thus create passivity on the metal and alloy.
