The role of personality disorders in women with a history of domestic violence

Research Method: The present research method was a library review. Thus, the keywords of early maladaptive schemas, anxiety and women in the search engines of Persian articles bank include Scientific Information Database, Noormags, Magiran and Civilica and foreign articles bank including Google Scholar, PubMed, Springer, Science Direct and Scopus was searched between ۲۰۰۰ and ۲۰۲۱, and selected articles were entered for this study.Results: Research findings indicate numerous studies by domestic and foreign researchers on the subject of personality disorders. The results showed that personality disorders, especially borderline personality disorder, is one of the most common personality disorders in women with a history of domestic violence.Conclusion: Personality disorders are a good predictor of a history of domestic violence in women, in which the role of borderline personality disorder seems to be stronger than other personality disorders.
