Floristic study of Afous area

Pastoral region of Cheshmehsaran Afous with ۱۱۴۶ hectares area is located at ۴۵ Km to Bouin Miandasht region (Isfahan province) between ۳۳° ΄ ۰۵΄΄ to ۳۳° ۵۸΄ ΄ latitudes and ۵۰° ۰۲΄ to ۵۰° ۰۹΄ longitudes. The maximum heights above sea level were ۲۴۰۰ m. The average annual precipitation is ۴۶۶/۲ mm and the average temperature is ۱۰ °C. The purpose of this research was investigation of flora of the region. So the plant species were collected from different sites during eight times in spring, summer and atumn ۲۰۱۷. Identification of flora was done with different Flora & Monographs. In this study a complete list of flora life forms and chorotypes of plant elements was prepared. Identified vascular plants in the region were mostly flowering with ۱۹۲ species belonging to ۳۶ families and ۱۳۹ genera. Asteraceae (۳۴ species), Fabaceae (۱۷ species), Lamiaceae (۱۴ species), Apiaceae and Poaceae (each of them, ۱۳ species), Brassicaceae and Liliaceae (each of them, ۱۲ species) were the largest families in this region,respectively. The largest genera were Astragalus (with ۱۴ species), Euphorbia (with ۵ species), Silene , Centaurea, Stachys (with ۴ species), Cousinia and Scorzonera (with ۳ species) and Fritillaria (۲ species), respectively. The most important geographic elements were related to Irano-Turanian floristic region with ۱۴۲ species (۷۸/۴%). Hemicryptophytes (۱۱۲ species, ۵۸/۳۳%), Cryptophyte (۳۰ species, ۱۵/۶۲ %), Theophytes (۲۵ species, ۱۳/۰۲%), Chamaephytes (۱۸ species, ۹/۳۷%) and Phanerophytes (۷ species, ۳/۶۴%) and were the most important life forms, respectively. The dominant vegetation type of the region includes main species of Astragalus. Species of Eremorus persicus with diffuse shrubs of Prunus houssknechti were seen at higher altitude.
