چکیده مقاله:

The aim of the present study was to investigate the model of early maladaptive schemas and maritalhappiness, considering the mediating role of self-compassion. The research method was descriptiveand correlational. The statistical population was selected from among the married female students ofthree universities in Isfahan. One hundred and fifty people who were selected according to the criteriafor entering the study answered marital happiness , self-compassion, and early maladaptive schemasquestionnaires. Pearson correlation coefficient and structural equation model were used to analyze thedata. The results showed that direct paths were significant; In such a way that the total score of theearly maladaptive schemas had a significant negative relationship with marital happiness (p < .۰۱),and self-compassion had a significant positive relationship with marital happiness (p < .۰۱). Inaddition, a significant negative correlation was obtained between the total score of the earlymaladaptive schemas and self-compassion (p < .۰۱). Self-compassion also played a mediating role inthe relationship between early maladaptive schemas and marital happiness. In general, based on thefindings of the current study, it might be argued that in order to increase marital happiness, it ispossible to work on improving the components of self-compassion, because by modifying the earlymaladaptive schemas that play an important role in communication conflicts, the marital happinessmight increase.
