In vitro study to measure cell viability following permethrin exposure in Hep-G2 cells

Permethrin is the most popular pyrethroid with a wide range of insecticidal activities in agriculture and vector control interventions in public health. In the present study, we evaluated the effects of permethrin in Hep-G2 cells by MTT assay. Different doses of permethrin were treated to evaluate cytotoxicity effects on cells. Our findings showed that permethrin induced morphological alterations such as vacuolization and cell rounding. Also, permethrin decreased cell viability in Hep-G2 cells. To conclude, permethrin induces cytotoxicity in Hep-G2 cells.
