چکیده مقاله:

Every word has one meaning; however, some words have more than one meaning. Polysemy and metaphor in modern semiology as well as interpretation and metaphor and trope in old logic fall within the same discussion. Finding the logical relationship between such meanings, especially one between tangible and abstract meanings is the subject of this paper. Assuming the reader is familiar with the preparatory discussions in this field, this paper aimed to scrutinize the new dimensions of the relationship between word and meaning. For this purpose, the focus is just on the point of gradation, where meaning has undergone subtle transformation. We know, literal and abstract meanings are connected by subjective imagination. However, during the transition from literal to abstract meaning, an aspect of the use of the word appears that neither falls within the material sense nor the abstract one, but it also shares the characteristics of both. The zone, because of its similarities to graduated word, can be called "gradation zone"
