Ring expansion of aziridines to N-heterocyclic compounds

Aziridines are well known to be useful reagents for the synthesis of many types of nitrogen-containing compounds. Aziridines are useful reagents for the synthesis of many types of nitrogen-containing compounds. In relation to our research interest on the synthesis of N- heterocyclic compounds,1-8 various ketoaziridines were transformed to the variety of heterocyclic compounds All synthesized compounds are stable solids whose structures were determined on the basis of their mass spectrum, 1H and 13C NMR and IR spectroscopic data.
