Simulation of thermal performance of different green vegetation in reducing the energy consumption of residential buildings

Reducing energy consumption has been a concern of the engineering community in the world for centuries. Reducing energy consumption is of global importance in order to save costs and reduce the harmful effects of the environment. In this study, a building in Tehran is considered to have the thermal performance of using a green facade, green wall and green roof to reduce energy consumption by DesignBuilder software and the simulation results are compared with a regular building. According to the results, gas consumption in buildings with green facades and buildings with green walls decreased by ۳۴.۴% and ۲۷.۷%, respectively. Also, if the green facade is used in the building, electricity consumption will be reduced by ۴۰.۶۷% compared to a regular building.
