چکیده طرح پژوهشی:

Aiming at achieving high-yielding varieties' selection in the irrigated breeding program of the cold regions and in order to determine yield stability and genotype × environment interaction, two experiments were conducted. In order to determine adaptability of the lines under study in both uniform trials, using a randomized complete block design (RCBD) with three replications, 20 genotypes were evaluated for two consecutive years during cropping season 2014-2016. In the first trial, 17 barley advanced lines selected from previous year (along with three checks i.e. EBYT-C 91-8, Makouee and Bahman) were evaluated uniformly along with 8 cold stations including Karaj, Mashhad, Ardebil, Arak, Hamedan, Miandoab, Jolge-Rokh and Tabriz. In the second trial, same genotypes were evaluated uniformly in Karaj, Mashhad, Hamedan and Miandoab under both irrigated and terminal drought conditions. Each plot consisted of 6 rows of 6 m long with 20 cm spacing, with an area of 7.2 m2 among which after omitting the marginal effect, 0.5 m from both sides of the plot, 6.0 m2 were remained for yield comparison. Simple and combined analyses of variances were performed for all stations studied and the results were indicative of superiority of the lines No.s 3, 12, and 4 in the first experiment. Data analyses of the second experiment were resulted in relative superiority of the lines No.s 3, 4, and 5; and No.s 5, 11, and 18 for irrigated and stressed conditions, respectively. It was shown that the promising line No. 3 and 5 were the best performeres in the terminal drought experiment under both conditions.Key Words: Barley, Adaptability, genotype × environment interaction, Yield stability, terminal drought, and Cold zone
