چکیده طرح پژوهشی:

This study was carried out to identify high yielding lines/cultivars in comparison to the commercial cultivars. Forty lines and cultivars including control were studied in two separate experimens, each with 19 genotypes, in fore experimental field stations (Dezful, Darab, Iranshahr and Khorramabad) in southern dry and warm zone, using randomized complete block design (RC BD) with three replications. These new lines were selected from the preliminary regional yield trials (PRWYT-Z2) of 2003-2004 cropping season. The new lines were compared with cv. Chamran, regarding grain yield, agronomic performance, adaptability as well as reaction to major diseases in the target areas. These lines were also studied for their reaction to major diseases in known hot spots for Yellow Rust (YR), Leaf Rust (LR), Karanl Bunt (KB), Septerios etc. in special diseases nurseries, under natural and artificial inoculating conditions. Yield potential, desired agronomic characteristics and reaction to major diseases were considered as the main criteria in final evaluation and selection. Statistics as mean grain yield, mean rank (R), standard deviation of rank (SDR), and agronomic characteristics were used in selection of superior lines. Selected lines had higher grain yield, low R value, low SDR, greater YIR and desired agronomic characteristic: flowering time, plant height (90-100cm), tolerance Iresistance to major diseases, suitable physiological maturity period, desired grain color (Amber is preferred). Fifteen lines based on the above criteria were selected to be studied in the Elite Regional Uniform yield trials (ERWY1) in southern warm and dry zone in the 2006 -07 cropping season.
