Production Performance Analysis and Field Development Plan in an oil field in the west of Australia

the main objective of reservoir management is to enhance the short term and long term profitability of a project . Short term profit can be improved by raising produtction rates with minimum costs , long term profit is comprised of a sustained high production rate and improvement in ultimate reserves which , togethe , increase the current value of the asset. that is, the long term profit and the NPV net present value of assets can be improved by producing reserves in a shorter time span as well as by enhancing producible reserves from a field horizontal wells are effective in increasing production rates and improving reserves; therefore , they provide an excellent tool for reservoir management . in this paper a field development plan is proposed for an offshore oil & gas field in west australia. the plan is based on the appraisal wells , well extended production data test and log data from these wells.
