Length-weight relationship of Pseudoras parva from the Mashhad Chalidare Dam, Iran

Fluctuations in fish stocks and length-weight relationship is one of the mostobvious indicators of the condition of recoverable stocks. In this study, 268fish growth parameters March 2009 in the Mashhad Chalidareh Dam. wasperformed according to sex. The value of b for the male was 3.09 (positiveallometric growth) and female 2.16 (negative allometric growth), respectively.Both sexes had high regression coefficients. Males and females had aregression coefficient of 0.932 and 0.840, respectively. The minimum lengthand weight range were belonged to females and the greatest range wasbelonged to males. There was significant difference between males andfemales at 0.05 level of significance. This study is useful for biologists andmanagers of fisheries ecology.
