Note: In fact, microcontrollers are designed and produced from the model of microcomputers. They predetermine the functions and operation of microcontrollers. As their name suggests, they are a small IC and are programmable.

Micropressor is generally a processor and to work, memory chips and  other things must be added to it. It is practical to  use suitable memory and other parts such as timers, etc., but the circuit It becomes very complicated and in terms of  cost, the cost also increases, that's why micro-pressors are used less nowadays, but these days,  new micro-controllers with large memories, large number of timers, many ports and a great variety of them are available according to  these possibilities. has left to forget about other microprocessors.

Defect of microcontroller:

Microcontroller with all these advantages in the system has a small flaw. And that is the low speed (a speed  equivalent to one millionth of a second). It is not a small speed and  consider a logic gate that adjusts its output according to the input and the speed of this gate.  Logically, 10 to the negative power is 9 seconds, which means nanoseconds, but if we want to operate this gate with a microcontroller,  we have a speed equivalent to microseconds, so in terms of speed, it is not  suitable for very limited applications of the microcontroller.

Although microcontrollers and microprocessors put microprocessors in the same branch technically and structurally, they have major differences in components and performance. In microprocessors, there is only a separate processing unit in the form of an IC (integrated circuit), where circuits such as RAM are connected to the microprocessor in separate ICs, and with ROM, input/output unit, timers form a computer. All of them are placed in the microcontroller of all the units of a computer, including RAM, ROM, and timers in a compact and integrated manner inside an IC called a microcontroller. Nowadays, the use of microcontrollers in commercial devices to control the operation of household electronic devices such as (TV, microwave oven, microwave oven), remote control device and washing machine is very common and economical. For this reason, the microcontroller is also called a microcomputer.
